Morey-Saint-Denis is red-wine country. Four grand crus, all Pinot Noir, and almost no white at all. Dujac's share of the exception is 0.65 hectares of Chardonnay in two parcels of the Porroux climat, at the foot of the slope facing northeast.
The domaine picked that spot deliberately. The RD 974 runs below it and blocks the cold air draining down the hillside, which is exactly what gives this wine its acidity. Silty soil, Comblanchien limestone pebbles, certified organic since 2011.
Lightly pressed, fermented in stainless steel on native yeast, then eighteen months in one, two and three year old barriques. No new wood, no fining, no filtration. 2022 handed Burgundy a hot, dry season rescued by June rain, and the cool low-slope sites like this one gained the most.
