Dujac Morey Saint Denis Rouge 2021 750ml
FRANCE : BURGUNDY : MOREY-SAINT-DENIS
BIODYNAMIC : Pinot Noir
MED-BODIED, MULBERRY, ROSE PETAL, WHITE PEPPER, TOBACCO, OAK
Domaine Dujac's village Morey-Saint-Denis comes from nearly three hectares of estate-owned parcels across four lieux-dits — Les Herbuottes, Les Porroux, Clos Solon, and Le Village — all harvested 25–26 September 2021. Founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses and now guided by son Jeremy and his wife Diana Snowden Seysses, the domaine's approach has not changed: 100% whole-cluster fermentation, native yeasts, minimal intervention, and gravity-fed cellar work.
The 2021 vintage was marked by an April 7 frost that dramatically cut yields across the Côte de Nuits. What survived concentrated beautifully: Decanter awarded 93 points, citing "lovely, ripe mulberry fruit, a bit of smokiness from the cask ageing, and notes of rose petal and mineral." Vinous (92 pts) called it "quintessential Dujac" — whole-cluster white pepper and bay leaf threading through lightly peppered black fruit, tobacco, and dark chocolate. Best 2026–2030.
PAIRINGS :
