Dujac Morey Saint Denis Rouge 2023 750ml
Dujac Morey Saint Denis Rouge 2023 750ml
FRANCE : BURGUNDY : MOREY-SAINT-DENIS
BIODYNAMIC : Pinot Noir
MED-BODIED, WILD STRAWBERRY, MORELLO CHERRY, DARK PLUM, LOAMY EARTH, OAK
Jacques Seysses founded Domaine Dujac in 1968 — the name a contraction of "du Jacques," the domaine of Jacques — after training in Volnay and purchasing a small estate in Morey-Saint-Denis. Now run by the second generation (Jeremy, Diana Snowden, and Alec Seysses), the domaine has been certified organic since 2011 and practicing biodynamics since 2003, with hand-harvesting and whole-cluster fermentation at the core of every wine.
The 2023 vintage brought heat, concentration, and energy to the Côte de Nuits — a year critics compare to 1999, running brawnier and more fruit-forward than Dujac's typical village style. Wild strawberries, Morello cherries, and a faint touch of damp loamy soil on the nose give way to a supple, fleshy palate with slightly grainy tannins and real length. 91 pts Wine Advocate.
