Jacques Seysses founded Domaine Dujac in 1968 — the name a contraction of "du Jacques" — after two harvests learning under Gérard Potel at Pousse d'Or in Volnay and buying Domaine Graillet in Morey-Saint-Denis. The second generation (Jeremy, Diana and Alec Seysses) now runs it, certified organic since 2011 and working with biodynamic practices across the estate since 2003.
2024 was a vintage of rain, mildew pressure and poor fruit set across the Côte de Nuits, and Dujac brought in about half a normal crop, 18.5 hl/ha. The family waited, picking between September 19 and 25, fermented with 60 to 100% whole bunches on native yeasts and aged the wines 14 to 16 months in relatively new oak.
What comes out is fresh and lighter-framed rather than big — a cool-year Burgundy. Matthew Hayes of JancisRobinson.com, tasting at the end of 2025, found raspberry on the nose and palate and a deeper profile.
PAIRINGS :
| Roast quail with grapes | small game birds suit a fresh, red-fruited village Pinot |
| Pan-seared duck breast | the fat meets the raspberry fruit and fresh acidity |
| Wild mushroom risotto | earth meets mushroom; the acidity cuts the butter |
