One of five bottles in Buffalo Trace's annual Antique Collection, and the only one bottled at a fixed proof rather than barrel strength — Eagle Rare 17 Year trades the intensity of its George T. Stagg and William Larue Weller stablemates for something closer to a classic bourbon profile, aged past the point most Mash Bill #1 whiskey would tip into bitterness.

This release came off the line in fall 2022, distilled in 2005 and rested in Warehouses H, K, and L for just over seventeen years. Baked cinnamon apple and crisp aged oak lead the nose; brown sugar, toasted oak, and a touch of dark fruit carry through the palate before a dry, peppercorn-spiced finish that shows its age honestly.
