Heaven Hill put its Kentucky rye recipe into the Barrel Proof program in September 2025, and the line now runs three batches a year: January, May, September. B526 is the May 2026 release, ten years and eight months old, bottled uncut and without chill filtration at 115.6 proof.

The batch math is the interesting part. The debut went twelve years at only 108 proof; January's release answered with 120.4. B526 lands between them, younger than either but carrying enough proof to push the stewed fruit and baking spice forward instead of letting a decade of oak take over.

At 51% rye rounded out with corn and malted barley, this is Kentucky-style rye rather than the 95% Indiana recipe behind most of the category. Rounder, sweeter, more bourbon-adjacent. Bourbon & Banter, writing on the January batch, called it a terrific Kentucky-style rye on the order of the 115-proof single barrel Knob Creek beasts.
