Far Niente's estate Chardonnay draws from two Napa sites — the Martin Stelling Vineyard in Oakville and blocks in cooler Coombsville at Napa's southern edge — giving the wine both the mid-palate richness the valley floor builds and the acidity the Pacific fog preserves. Nicole Marchesi has led winemaking here since 2009, fermenting and aging in French oak to build texture without letting the oak dominate.
The 2024 growing season ran hot after a wet winter — 40-plus days above 100°F, with Chardonnay coming off the vine in early August, the earliest harvest in a decade at many Napa properties.
