Fonseca has produced Port from the Douro Valley since 1815, and the house style has always run richer and more generous than its peers — more dark fruit, more weight, more character through the finish. Tawny is Port that has spent time in small oak barrels, allowing slow oxidation to shift color from deep purple toward amber while layering in nutty, caramel-edged complexity that red and ruby styles never develop.

This is Fonseca's entry into the Tawny category — structured enough to pour solo, sweet enough to carry through dessert, and honest about what it is: a practical, well-made fortified wine from one of Portugal's most respected houses.
