Fortress Vodka is built from 100% New York-grown corn neutral spirit sourced from Upstate New York, proofed with Catskill Mountains mineral water, and carbon filtered over organic activated charcoal — then bottled without additives at 80 proof. Non-chill filtered, which leaves the natural oils in place and gives the spirit its silky texture.

Fort Hamilton Distillery opened in Industry City, Brooklyn in 2016. Alex Clark and Amy Grindeland built the program around New York rye — the pre-Prohibition Northeast American style — and the vodka and gin came as secondary products under the same no-additives, no-shortcuts discipline. The distillery and its spirits are named after Fort Hamilton Army Base, which in turn is named after Alexander Hamilton. The Fortress name honors the Fortress Bar in the same Industry City building.
