Glenmorangie distills at Tain, on the Dornoch Firth, through the tallest pot stills in Scotland. The 16-foot-10-inch necks send everything but the lightest vapor falling back, which is why a Highland malt this delicate exists at all.

In July 2024 the distillery retired the 10 Year Old that had anchored the range since the 1960s and replaced it with this bottling. Dr Bill Lumsden's team found that two more years in ex-bourbon American oak bought silkiness and a longer, nuttier finish, so the citrus and ripe peach now sit on top of vanilla cream rather than beside it. Almond and a touch of coconut close it out. Whisky Advocate 91 pts.
