Named for Don Lázaro Gallardo — the founder who opened Gran Centenario's doors in 1857 and is credited as tequila's first master distiller — this extra añejo carries forward his Selección Suave method: blending tequilas of different maturities to build complexity no single barrel program can deliver alone.

The liquid ages over three years in new American white oak and new French oak, then finishes in former Bordeaux red wine casks at a deep char (level 2–3). The Bordeaux contact is what pulls the fig, banana, and dark fruit notes forward — what would otherwise read as a straightforward oak-driven extra añejo picks up red wine character that puts it closer to cognac territory than highland tequila. Exactly 679 bottles came to the US.
