Danielle Meunier is the fourth generation of her family to run these nine hectares in the heart of Saint-Émilion, and she has led the estate since 1972. Her parcels sit in three lieux-dits: Fortin, across from La Dominique and about 300 meters from Cheval Blanc, plus Chauvin and the Plateau de Corbin. She tends them with the same long-serving trio of vineyard hands. The wine she makes is systematically underpriced for its pedigree and its address.
Though the vineyard is planted mostly to Merlot, the bottled wine often leans on Cabernet Franc, which is why it carries more structure and aging potential than most Saint-Émilion Grand Crus at this price. Hand-picked from clay and limestone, fermented in cement vats, aged in oak barrels and bottled unfiltered.
