Merlot built on Right Bank logic — 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc, drawn across three Lodi sub-appellations. The bulk comes from the sandy loam of Mokelumne River; Borden Ranch and Sloughhouse supply the spice.

The oak decision is the tell. A quarter of the Merlot and all of the Cabernet Franc go into new French oak for six months, and the rest never touches wood — seasoning on the aromatics rather than a layer of vanilla across the whole blend. Structured and earthy, but with enough red plum to stay in balance.
