LIGHT-BODIED, STRAWBERRY, CRANBERRY, CITRUS ZEST, SALINE MINERAL, NO OAK
Isle Saint-Pierre is a 200-hectare estate on a small island in the Rhône River, 25km south of Arles — surrounded by the Camargue wetlands, 15km from the Mediterranean. Fourth-generation vigneron Julien Henry farms sustainably without chemical herbicides or synthetic fertilizers; a flock of 200 sheep handles the natural fertilization, a practice unchanged since the estate's founding in 1927.
The rosé is made from free-run juice only — grapes are cooled on arrival, briefly macerated with precise timing, and pressed without mechanical force. No oak, no excess extraction: what you get is the island's sandy, silty, alluvial terroir in a glass, with the saline note that comes from being essentially surrounded by water. The eclectic blend — Bordeaux varieties alongside Vermentino and the INRA-bred Arinarnoa — works because the island's cooling influence creates a more continental microclimate than the surrounding south.
PAIRINGS :
| Grilled branzino | saline minerality mirrors coastal fish; acidity cuts through olive oil |
| Bouillabaisse | a natural Camargue pairing — bright acidity lifts the saffron broth |
| Niçoise salad | crisp fruit cuts through oil-packed tuna, olives, and egg |
