Jack Daniel's went more than a hundred years without putting an age statement on a bottle. The 10-Year changed that in 2021, and this is the fifth annual batch: the same Old No. 7 mash bill, mellowed drop by drop through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal, then left in new American oak for a decade while the barrels were moved around the rickhouse to keep the wood from taking over.

The result is recognizably Jack, just slower. Cooked apple and caramel on the nose, molasses and dark chocolate underneath, and a finish that runs long and dry with tobacco and barrel spice. Drinkhacker graded Batch 5 an A and called it the best release of the series to date.

Bottled at 700mL, not the usual 750mL. Nationally allocated.
