The fifth Ghost and Rare release, and the first from Master Blender Dr Emma Walker, builds a Blue Label around grain whisky from Port Dundas — the Glasgow distillery on the Forth and Clyde Canal that ran from 1811 until it closed in 2010. Two more ghosts, Cambus and original stocks of Brora, sit alongside it, with rare whisky from Cameronbridge, Glenkinchie, Clynelish, Dailuaine and Auchroisk filling out the blend.

Everything here matured in American oak — second-fill casks for creamy vanilla, first-fill heavily charred casks for wood spice. Heather honey and banoffee on the nose, caramelized sugar, baked apple and peach on the palate, then a dry finish of ground pepper and a thread of smoke. Whisky Advocate 92 pts.
