Joseph Gold & Sons has been distilling arak in Israel since 1824 — the Gold family arrived from Ukraine and pivoted from vodka to the local drink of choice. The Elite is triple-distilled from Mediterranean grape distillate infused with aniseed, then rested to let the flavors integrate. It's become Israel's best-selling arak, and the most widely available Israeli arak in the US market.

Pour it the traditional way: arak first, then cold water (roughly 1:2), then ice — the spirit turns milky white on contact as the anethole emulsifies. Kosher for Passover (OU-P).
