Kentucky Owl Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch 12 750ml

USA : KENTUCKY

Straight Bourbon

FULL-BODIED, CHERRY, CARAMEL, BUTTERSCOTCH, CINNAMON SPICE

Batch #12 is John Rhea's second numbered batch for Kentucky Owl. Rhea, the former Four Roses COO and a 2016 Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee, took over as master blender in 2021, and his recipe here runs on contrast — bourbons aged 7 to 14 years blended with two different 4-year-old bourbons.

The older stock carries the cherry, caramel and butterscotch; the young whiskey keeps the spice up front. At 115.8 proof a splash of water is worth trying, and it opens the glass without thinning it out. Whisky Advocate 92 pts. Robb Report 90 pts.
