King Of Kentucky 12 Year Old Batch 2
UNITED STATES : KENTUCKY : LOUISVILLE
75% Corn, 15% Rye, 10% Malted Barley — Brown-Forman Distillery
FULL-BODIED, DARK FRUIT, CINNAMON SPICE, CRÈME BRÛLÉE, BLACK TEA, CHARRED OAK
Brown-Forman's first-ever batched King of Kentucky arrives as three different proof expressions — 105, 107.5, and 110 — built from roughly 100 barrels each, aged 12 to 18 years in heat-cycled Louisville rickhouses where steam pushes warehouse temperatures above 85°F in winter, driving the spirit deep into new charred American oak. Some barrels retained only 14–16% of their original fill — extreme concentration that makes single-barrel release impractical but a blend extraordinary. Whisky Advocate 94 pts.
Batch 2, at 107.5 proof, is the most distinctive of the three. The extra 2.5 proof over Batch 1 amplifies baking spice, black tea, and a savory midpalate character — dried raspberries, crème brûlée, black peppercorn — that neither Batch 1 (105 proof, more balanced and stone-fruit-forward) nor Batch 3 (110 proof, concentrated barrel and dark cherry intensity) shares. UPROXX called it "the most distinctive of the lineup." Where Batch 1 is the accessible entry point and Batch 3 is the power expression, Batch 2 is the outlier.
107.5 Proof
