Kings County Distillery Peated Bourbon 750ml

CONVENTIONAL : 75% corn, 25% peated barley
FULL-BODIED, DARK FRUIT, SMOKED BRISKET, CAMPFIRE, CINNAMON
Kings County is New York City's oldest post-Prohibition craft distillery, founded in 2010 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard — the first to operate in the borough since Prohibition. Colin Spoelman and David Haskell built the operation around pot stills and a single contrarian bet: that peat had a place in American bourbon.
The mash bill runs 75% organic corn from Lakeview Organic in the Finger Lakes and 25% peated barley from Thomas Fawcett Maltsters in Yorkshire, smoke-dried with Aberdeen peat at 15 ppm. Aged four years in new charred American oak, the result reads more as a full-flavored bourbon than a peat-forward Scotch — corn-sweet and caramel-anchored, with campfire and baking spice arriving late. Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2022 and again in 2016. Gold in 2025.
