Madre Tequila is produced by the Padilla family at their single estate in San Julian, Jalisco, in the Los Altos highlands at 7,500 feet elevation — among the highest-grown agave in the denomination. Harvested only after showing enrocamiento (a reddish blush in the leaves signaling peak sugar development), the piñas are roasted in traditional clay brick ovens and distilled in stainless steel pot stills.
Bottled at still strength — 48% ABV, undiluted. No additives, no glycerine, no sweeteners. The way all tequila used to be made. 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition Gold Medal, 94 pts.
