Mai Vino Organic Pinot Noir 1.5L Pouch
CHILE : CURICÓ VALLEY
CERTIFIED ORGANIC : Pinot Noir
LIGHT-BODIED, POMEGRANATE, BLACKBERRY, WHITE PEPPER, EARTHY, NEUTRAL OAK
Mai Vino is a New York DTC brand founded by two women — Pam and Mai — built around a direct argument: certified-organic, single-origin wine should not be expensive or hard to find. This Pinot Noir comes from the Curió Valley, where the vines grow on volcanic basalt and limestone with original European rootstock from Burgundy, farmed without pesticides or herbicides. Five-day cold soak on stems in concrete, native yeast fermentation, nine months in neutral French oak — the winemaking is deliberate even if the format is unconventional.
What you're getting is a dry, light-bodied red with zero added sugar: crunchy pomegranate, blackberry, white pepper, a thread of earthiness, and a clean finish. The 1.5L pouch holds two bottles' worth, stays fresh for 30 days after opening, and cuts the wine's carbon footprint by 80% versus glass. Serve it slightly chilled.
PAIRINGS :
| Venetian duck ragù with pappardelle | earthy richness and egg pasta absorb the wine's body and red fruit without overwhelming it |
| Portobello mushroom and manchego flatbread | earthy umami pulls the wine's white pepper and earthiness forward |
| Roast chicken with pan drippings | light frame and natural acidity cut through the fat cleanly; serve both slightly chilled |
