Alsace Willm has been producing wine and spirits in Barr since 1896, at the foot of the Kirchberg de Barr Grand Cru on the Alsace Wine Route. This crème de cassis is the essential ingredient in a Kir (still white wine and a measure of cassis) or a Kir Royale (substitute Champagne or Crémant), the classic French apéritif that turns a glass of wine into something worth pausing for. Works equally well as a digestif, a dark berry modifier in cocktails, or drizzled over vanilla ice cream.
