Martin Texier 'La Boutanche' Red 2024 1L
FRANCE : RHÔNE VALLEY
ORGANIC : Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre
LIGHT-BODIED, RED CHERRY, RASPBERRY, CASSIS, DRIED HERBS, NO OAK
One of the best year-round guzzling reds. Bright red fruits with just a touch of blackberry thrown in, and enough earth and dried herbs to pair well with just about anything. As always, great at room temperature, or with just a slight chill.
Martin Texier's La Boutanche is a collaborative project with importer Selection Massale — organically grown fruit, native yeast fermentation, low-to-zero sulfur, bottled in a liter screw-cap as a philosophy, not a gimmick. Texier is the son of Eric Texier, one of the Rhône's most respected natural wine producers, and has built his own reputation for light-handed, terroir-driven winemaking.
PAIRINGS :
| Duck rillettes and country pâté | bright acidity cuts through rich fat; red fruit echoes the cured meat |
| Grilled lamb chops with herbs de Provence | dried herb character mirrors the marinade; light tannins don't fight the lamb |
| Pizza margherita | acidity and red fruit are natural foils for tomato; the house table wine |
