Mas de Gourgonnier sits at the base of the granite Alpilles — a limestone ridge cutting through western Provence — on land the Cartier family has farmed since the 18th century. They converted to organic farming in 1975, among the first in Provence to hold Ecocert certification, and four generations later the approach hasn't changed.
The 2020 rouge blends Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carignan in the traditional proportions of this corner of France. Indigenous yeast, stainless steel and neutral oak — nothing to interrupt the terroir. What comes through is the garrigue: lavender, thyme, and wild rosemary from the Alpilles scrubland, running through the dark fruit and holding the finish long.
