Mijenta Anejo Tequila
MEXICO : JALISCO : LOS ALTOS
Blue Weber Agave
FULL-BODIED, DRIED CHERRY, TOFFEE, BUTTERSCOTCH, VANILLA, SPICED OAK
Mijenta is the world's first B Corp-certified tequila, and the Añejo is where the brand's four-cask aging sequence comes through most clearly. The spirit spends roughly 18 months moving through American white oak, French oak, acacia, and a final two months in cherry wood — building structure and sweetness before arriving somewhere between a textbook aged tequila and something you'd reach for in place of rye.
Master Tequilera Ana María Romero sources fully mature agave from the Arandas highlands — no early-harvest shortcuts — then cooks in autoclave, extracts by roller mill, and double-distills in stainless steel pot stills. No additives. The 99-point score from Tasting Panel Magazine is the strongest external signal; the Agave Matchmaker community has it at 88 across 356 ratings, which tells the same story.
SUGGESTED SERVES :
| Neat | The four-cask sequence is the point — room temperature, let it breathe, and the cherry and acacia layers surface without interruption. |
| Single large rock | Opens the dried fruit and softens the American oak backbone without diluting the depth. |
| Añejo Old Fashioned | Swap rye for Mijenta; the cherry-cask finish and butterscotch mid-palate do most of the work. |
