One of Diageo's original six Classic Malts, distilled on two of the smallest pot stills in Scotland and condensed outdoors in wooden worm tubs exposed to the salt air off Oban's harbor. The distillery underproduces relative to its capacity on purpose — it's the only way to protect a house style that splits the difference between Islay's smoke and Speyside's sweetness.

Fourteen years in refill American oak hogsheads brings out fruitcake, orange zest, and brine without tipping into peat. Whisky Advocate calls it "a long-standing favorite with a very distinctive profile," and the current release just took Double Gold at both the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and New York International Spirits Competition in 2025.
