Old Forester Birthday Bourbon has been an annual Louisville ritual since 2002 — always one distillation date, one warehouse, one specific floor selection, bottled on the founder's September birthday. The 2025 release marks the 25th anniversary of the series, and Brown-Forman marked it with a genuine production change: a sweet mash fermentation, using only freshly-propagated yeast with no setback from prior distillations. It's the first Birthday Bourbon to use this process in the series' history.

Distilled April 5, 2013, aged 12 years in Warehouse K on Floors 1 and 5 — a deliberate cross-floor selection that blends the faster-aging heat of upper floors with the slower, grain-forward character of lower floors. 210 barrels. Bottled at 92 proof. The nose leads with herbal tea, cardamom, and tropical fruit; the finish moves through candied apple, burnt sugar, leather, and chai spice.
