Buffalo Trace's tribute to William Larue Weller, the 19th-century distiller credited with pioneering the wheated bourbon style — substituting wheat for rye as the secondary grain to produce a softer, richer character. The same wheated mashbill runs through the entire Weller lineup and, famously, through the Van Winkle series. Antique 107 is the high-proof expression in the standard lineup: 53.5% ABV, non-age-stated, and widely understood to carry whiskey in the 6–8 year range.

The proof earns its weight without being punishing. Caramel and vanilla lead; cinnamon spice grips through the palate; dark fruit and seasoned oak add dimension on the finish. The wheat rounds off the edges that rye would otherwise create — the intensity of a high-proof bourbon without the sharp grain heat.
