Orphan Barrel's first rye, and a well-traveled one — distilled in Indiana, carried across the state line to spend 14 years in new white oak at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Kentucky, then bottled in Tullahoma, Tennessee at 90 proof. Master Blender Samantha Johnson built it from rare 14-year-old rye stocks for a limited release in May 2023. The cardinal on the label is the state bird of both Indiana and Kentucky.

Double-digit rye is scarce, and this one shows its age in texture rather than oak: buttered rye toast and baking spice up front, pear, apple and orange marmalade through the middle, dark chocolate on a long finish. Drinkhacker gave it an A (9.5/10) — "I can't think of a better prestige rye on the market at the moment."
