Paolo Conterno's 'A Mont' is the entry point into the Ginestra cru — one of Barolo's most celebrated hillsides — at a fraction of what the flagship demands. The grapes come from a 2.8-hectare parcel planted in 1992, farmed sustainably on steep calcareous clay slopes at 300–350 meters above sea level.
Seven to eight days of maceration in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by a year in 35-hectoliter French oak casks: the protocol keeps the fruit vivid while the oak integration stays seamless. Expect roses and spiced orange on the nose, cranberry and red cherry on the palate, with compact tannins and clean acidity. Drink now or hold through 2030.
