Freisa is one of Piedmont’s oldest native varieties — tannic, fragrant, and built for the table. Ornella Pelissero has tended these Cascina Crosa vines since 2007, continuing a family tradition that stretches back to 1921 and producing only 4,000 bottles of this wine each year.

The grapes come from a 0.76-hectare plot at 300 meters above sea level in Neive, farmed sustainably under the lotta integrata system. Twelve months in large used French casks rounds out the tannins while keeping the wine’s structure intact — high acidity and firm grip, but balanced by bright red fruit and floral lift.
