Prima Piuma is a low-intervention wine line created by Summer Wolff — one of the earliest natural wine importers in the US — in collaboration with Gianluca Ravizza at Azienda Agricola Gaia, a 23-hectare organic estate in the Monferrato hills. The idea is simple: organic wine should be as available as organic food.
Grignolino anchors the blend — a thin-skinned Piedmontese native with high tannin, high acidity, and distinctive herbal and floral character. Barbera adds flesh and red fruit. Indigenous yeasts, 14-day maceration in stainless steel, then cement aging with no oak at any stage. Unfined, lightly filtered at bottling. 4,200 bottles produced.
