Prince Hill Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2022
Prince Hill Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2022
USA : OREGON : DUNDEE HILLS
Pinot Noir
MED-BODIED, BLACK CHERRY, MOUNTAIN RASPBERRY, EARTHY MUSHROOM, BLACK TEA, OAK
Prince Hill Vineyard sits 519 to 767 feet in the heart of Dundee Hills, planted on volcanic Jory soil with Dick Erath’s Clone 95 — a selection he sourced from Burgundy’s Clos Vougeot and spent 20 years propagating at this site. The elevation, the soil, and that specific clone all show in the glass: red fruit, grounded earth, and the mineral grip that defines the Dundee Hills style.
Winemaker Chris Burrough aged this 2022 for 14 months in 100% French oak (26% new), with 6% whole clusters. Harvest ran late — September 30 through October 15, after a frost-damaged spring recovered into one of Oregon’s warmest Octobers on record. Decanter 93 pts.
PAIRINGS :
| Duck confit | fat and structure; the earthy depth carries the richness |
| Mushroom risotto | mirrors the wine’s umami and forest floor notes |
| Herb-roasted salmon | weight and bright acidity hold up against oily fish |
