Ragtag Wine Co. is a small-production label out of San Luis Obispo — founded in 2016 by siblings Deron and Sarah Brewer with winemaker Jeff Huskey, who borrows from Napa's playbook: open-top fermentation and extended new oak aging applied to Central Coast fruit. The 2018 vintage from Paso Robles was a cooler, more precise season than the scorching 2017 — a late harvest with lower natural sugars and better acidity, giving the dark fruit and big structure somewhere to land.
