Bottled in Bond at 100 proof, Rittenhouse is made at Heaven Hill's Bernheim Distillery in Louisville under the strict requirements of the 1897 Bottled-in-Bond Act — single distillery, single distillation season, aged at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse, proofed to exactly 100 with pure water.

Named for Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia — where the brand was born in 1934 — it carries the traditional "Whisky" spelling as a nod to its Pennsylvania-style heritage, now distilled in Kentucky. When the cocktail renaissance needed a Bottled-in-Bond rye for period-accurate Manhattans and Whiskey Sours, this was the only one on the market. It still earns the shelf space.
