Stagg is Buffalo Trace's barrel-proof release — no water added, no chill filtration. Batch 25B came out in fall 2025 at 126.9 proof. The name changed from Stagg Jr. to Stagg; the bourbon hasn't changed.
25B runs toward the classic Stagg profile — heavier on molasses, charred oak, cocoa, and leather than the fruit-forward batches. Black cherry and dark berries appear on the finish, which is long and dry. At 126.9 proof the heat is real; a few drops of water open things up quickly.
