Stagg Jr. — now labeled simply as Stagg — is Buffalo Trace's barrel-proof, uncut, unfiltered release from Mash Bill #1. Where the annual George T. Stagg anchors the Antique Collection, the quarterly Stagg batches give bourbon drinkers regular access to the same high-octane character without the secondary-market math.

Batch 25D is the fourth release of 2025, bottled at whatever the barrels gave up after roughly eight years in a Kentucky rickhouse. No water, no chill filtration, no color.

This one split the room. The single published batch review called it hot and hollow; the comment section came back arguing it's the best Stagg since the Jr. was dropped. Both camps agree on one thing — give it ten minutes in the glass before you decide.
