The Bailly family has been growing vines in the village of Bué since 1700 — twenty-three parcels spread across chalk and clay hillsides, with holdings in Chêne Marchand, one of the appellation's most storied sites. Sonia Bailly runs the estate today; the house style has long been a benchmark for what consistent, value-driven Sancerre looks like.

The 2023 season brought mildew pressure through the Loire, but Sancerre's hillside sites in Bué came through cleanly — harvest started mid-September with bright fruit and well-balanced acidity. Fermentation is at a controlled 18°C in stainless steel vats to preserve primary aromatics, then fine lees aging through winter before cold stabilization and light filtration.
