The Bailly family has been growing vines in the village of Bué since 1700 — twenty-three parcels spread across limestone and clay hillsides, with holdings in Chêne Marchand, one of the appellation's most storied sites. Sonia Bailly joined the domaine as winemaker in 2007 and works it alongside her parents; the house style has long been a benchmark for what consistent, value-driven Sancerre looks like.

A dry spring kept mildew pressure low across the Loire in 2025, then a July hailstorm crossed the appellation and August heat left small, thick-skinned berries — picking here ran just six days, 4 to 9 September. Fermentation is temperature-controlled at 18°C in stainless steel to hold the primary aromatics, then fine lees aging through winter, a February racking and a light filtration before March bottling.
