Rottensteiner's Pinot Grigio grows in Branzollo and Frangarto, two villages south of Bolzano, on gravel, loam and porphyry — the red stone that gives the family its name and the wines their distinctive mineral edge. Those two sit at 250–300 meters; another part of the fruit comes from sites at 450 and 600, where dramatic day-night temperature swings hold acidity and build aromatic precision. The 2025 was fermented at 19°C and raised in stainless steel, and the estate calls it full-bodied and structured, with notes of banana and spice.

Founded in 1956 and now in its third generation, the estate works with 50 local growers alongside 10 hectares of family vineyards. This is a house that built its reputation on Alto Adige's native varieties before the whites started turning heads.
