Ocho was the first tequila to print the field name and the harvest year on the label, and La Ladera is one of the steepest, highest sites in the Camarena rotation — a rocky red slope above Arandas at 2,100 meters, where the piñas come in smaller and sweeter than the estate average.

Twelve months in ex-American whiskey barrels that have already held several vintages of Ocho, which is the legal minimum for añejo and entirely deliberate. Spent wood softens the texture without adding vanilla, so the agave stays in front.

Carlos Camarena distills it twice in copper, from eight-year agave fermented on airborne yeast alone. What you’re buying is a single slope in a single year.
