Ocho was the first tequila to print the field name and the harvest year on the label, and El Nacimiento is a real place: the largest ranch Carlos Camarena farms, at 2,075 meters in the Jalisco highlands, named for the spring on the property where the Agua Nueva river begins. The 2022 agave came in fully mature, carrying 29 to 30 percent sugar.

This is the unaged expression, so there is no barrel sitting between you and that field. Eight days from harvest to bottle, fermented on wild airborne yeast in open wooden tanks, twice distilled in pot stills, then straight into glass. The mouthfeel is thicker than 80 proof usually gives you.
