Rancho El Nacimiento takes its name from a spring that rises on the property, where the Agua Nueva river begins. It sits at 2,075 meters in the Jalisco highlands and is the largest ranch Carlos Camarena farms. The 2022 agave came in fully mature, carrying 29 to 30 percent sugar.

Ocho was the first brand to print the field name and the harvest year on a tequila label, and this bottle is the argument for why that matters. Eight weeks and eight days in spent ex-whiskey barrels is barely past the legal floor for reposado, which is the point: the barrel rounds the texture without handing the spirit vanilla and oak.
