FRV 100 is Jean-Paul Brun’s pétillant naturel from organically farmed estate Gamay on the clay-limestone hills of Charnay in the southern Beaujolais. The name reads phonetically as “effervescent” — a French visual pun. Bottled during active primary fermentation (méthode ancestrale), the wine captures natural CO2 without a secondary disgorgement, giving it a gentle sparkle and a light yeasty creaminess on the finish. Though the vintage cannot appear on the label, FRV 100 is always a single-vintage wine, made with minimal SO2 and indigenous yeast at 8.5% ABV.
