Hervé Joyaux Fabre came from Bordeaux to Argentina in the early 1990s, bought vineyards planted in 1908, and built Fabre Montmayou in Luján de Cuyo — the Mendoza sub-appellation most associated with classic, plush Malbec. The Trilogie is the winery’s entry-level expression: 100% Malbec, fruit-forward, no oak, ready now.
The 2025 season in Mendoza ran dry and warm, and in Luján de Cuyo picking began as early as February 10. A cool front through March and April slowed the reds and pulled the finish back to normal, so the fruit came in healthy and deeply coloured. Catena’s harvest report calls 2025 a vintage of concentration, expressiveness and purity, and singles out Malbec among the reds.
