Trossos del Priorat is a small family winery in Gratallops, the village at the geographic center of the Priorat DOCa — one of only two DOCa-classified appellations in Spain. 'Lo Petit de la Casa' ('the little one of the house') is the entry cuvee from a producer whose upper wines score in the 90s. Certified organic by the CCPA (Catalan Council of Ecological Agricultural Production); grown on llicorella, Priorat's characteristic decomposed black slate.
The 2022 vintage brought extreme summer heat and drought across Priorat, but parcels on llicorella soils delivered concentrated, high-quality fruit. Eva Escudé makes this wine with a cold soak for color and aroma, stainless steel fermentation, and 12 months in 225L French oak barrels. Enterwine 90, 2022.
