Buffalo Trace built a website and asked 100,000 bourbon drinkers to design their own release — mash bill, warehouse floor, age, proof. The majority landed on the same answer: wheated recipe, aged eight years on the rickhouse's hottest top floor, bottled in the 90-99 proof range. C.Y.P.B. is that bourbon, one batch released every year since 2018.

The wheated mash bill sits alongside the rest of the Weller lineup — same distillery, same limestone water, less rye bite than Buffalo Trace's other releases. Breaking Bourbon called out its balance directly, "more carefully constructed than the rest of the Weller lineup, and certainly more balanced than big wheated rivals like Larceny and Maker's Mark." It was named World's Best Bourbon at the 2021 World Whiskies Awards.
