Warre's White Port 750ml
PORTUGAL : DOURO
Arinto, Códega do Larinho, Malvasia Fina, Rabigato, Viosinho
FULL-BODIED, SWEET ORCHARD FRUIT, SALTED ALMOND, WHITE PEPPER, NEUTRAL OAK
Founded in 1670, Warre's is the oldest British Port house — now in its 13th generation under the Symington family, who remain 100% independent. Their White Port blends five traditional Douro varieties, fermented off-skins and aged in seasoned oak and stainless steel at the family's lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia.
The result sits in the medium-sweet register — more structure and white pepper than you'd expect from a fortified wine at this price, and enough acidity to stay lively. Serve well-chilled: neat over ice as an aperitif, or lengthened with tonic, lemon, and a dash of bitters in the classic Portuguese style. Wine Spectator 91 pts.
PAIRINGS :
| Salted almonds | mirrors the wine's own almond note; the classic aperitivo move |
| Olives and charcuterie | fruit and acidity cut through fat and brine |
| Aged Manchego | the cheese's nuttiness plays against the wine's sweet orchard fruit |
