Zuccardi Q Red Blend Uco Valley 2021 750ml
ARGENTINA : MENDOZA : VALLE DE UCO

FULL-BODIED, DARK PLUM, BLACKBERRY, DRIED FLOWER, SPICE, OAK
Drawn from two of the Uco Valley's defining high-altitude terroirs — Gualtallary in Tupungato at 4,590 feet and Paraje Altamira in San Carlos at 3,609 feet — the 'Q' line draws on Zuccardi's oldest vines and their most expressive parcels. The alluvial soils of both sites are defined by gravel over calcium carbonate; well-drained, mineral, and demanding — the kind of terrain that forces vine roots deep and concentrates the fruit. The elevation does the rest: cool nights and high daytime luminosity slow the growing season, hold the acidity, and build the dark fruit density that defines this blend.
Sebastián Zuccardi — third generation, the one who mapped the Uco Valley parcel by parcel starting in 2009 — built the case for Paraje Altamira as a world-class terroir before the world agreed. They agreed in 2022, when Wine Advocate awarded 100 points to three of his wines from the site and The World's Best Vineyards inducted the winery into its Hall of Fame after three consecutive years at #1. The 2021 vintage was exceptional by the winery's own description: cool, luminous, and perfectly timed across every elevation zone.
PAIRINGS :
| Guiso de Carne y Fideos (Argentine Beef Ragu) | the regional match — dark fruit and fine tannin work with slow-braised beef |
| Grilled lamb chops with chimichurri | Cabernet Franc's herbal note mirrors the chimichurri; structure holds up to the char |
| Hard aged cheese — Manchego or Pecorino | supple tannins dissolve against fat; the fruit opens up against the salt and funk |
