Domaine de la Colline farms six and a half hectares planted exclusively to Cabernet Franc across two distinct soil types in the Touraine: gravelly terraces that produce lighter, fresher “spring wines,” and argilo-calcareous hillsides that add structure and length. The 2020 draws from both.
It was a fine year for the Loire’s Cabernet Franc — warm, sunny growing season, no frost, early harvest in late August. The result is expressive and rustic, with violet and forest floor on the nose, blackberry and red plum on the palate, grippy tannins, punchy acidity, and a long, juicy finish.
